Big news - the Common Council in Kingston, NY just unanimously approved a plan to dedicate all revenue from our speed camera fines to traffic calming projects!As the Daily Freeman reported, Kingston installed 3 speed cameras in school zones this year, resulting in over 17,000 tickets and over $300,000 in revenue in the first three months so far. Kingston needed to have special authorization from the state legislature in order to install these cameras, which are currently part of a pilot program.
