We have had the privilege of living around Lake Mitchell for 35 years — and I love it ... Why drain the lake? We hope and pray that they do not cut a hole in the concrete dam, nor put a hole through the earthen dam. Why do we want to take a chance on something when we are not 100% sure that this is the best approach? We used hydraulic dredging 40 years ago and alum treatments after that; why wouldn't that method work today? With the method currently on the table, we have so many uncertainties. W

On Thursday, Aug. 6, many people enjoyed another annual Pre-Sturgis Rally. There were cars, motorcycles, vendor booths, displays, and a motorcycle stunt riding show. Plenty for everyone to see and enjoy. The motorcycle stunts performed were incredible and fun to see! However, I noticed parents bringing their small children, even babies, to the event with no hearing protection. The noise was overwhelming. Now, in my senior years with significant hearing loss and tinnitus, I am very conscientious
