Recent DaysLucky me! I had relatives at my house earlier in the week, and I greatly enjoyed having them. I felt honored that they chose to stay with me. One of the best parts was going together to visit some of our distant cousins and reminiscing about old times and revisiting some questions about the family tree. I don’t have many “lived” experiences along that route, but I did recall a
An Afternoon in Wood County (opens the original)

I visited Parkersburg when I came to West Virginia back in 2017. My McVey-connected 2nd cousin-once removed graciously offered me a guest room in his home, and I left wishing I had more time to explore.Fortunately, I was recently invited to visit “Cousin” Debbie (8th cousin through the Ellis line) in Wood County so we could go to Blennerhasset Island State Park. That was the plan. <a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" href="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!KSaN!,f_au
