When we were told at the end of last year that we would not regularly have a nurse in our school building, I knew that I had to prepare to assume many of those duties on my own. For years I have kept a desk drawer stocked with traditional first aid supplies such as cough drops and bandaids, and long ago I added such items as Vaseline and Q-tips for chapped lips, and mints for icky bellies. I have been seeing, all over social media, demands from people asking for cameras inside school classrooms. They want full color and sound, as well as zooming capabilities, in order to monitor that the teacher is teaching with fidelity. It’s a great public school tradition and I hope it never goes away.<p class="ct

Example: my brother and I play a movie game called Framed every day. He usually beats me, but I know a surprising amount of movies. HOWEVER, this week I have recoginized the movie, then written to Tim to describe it because I could not come up with the title.Me: It’s the one where everybody plays Bob Dylan at some point and one of them is on

I try to always be honest with you all, and that’s why I’m confessing that my first introduction to the person known as Dolly Parton was from playing Four Square. In the early 80s, when I was in elementary school, there were a few different rules to the game (at least from what I now observe from current elementary players). When serving the ball, the basic move was to bounce it in your square and then bump it into another square. However, there were specialty serves available, as long as you ca
