Have you ever woken in the morning with the pain of your life’s experiences sitting heavy on your chest?Every questionable decision, every wrong turn turned?Get up, I say to myself. Get your feet on the ground. Feet on floorboards, a metre from the earth. Walk out on to the bare ground outside.I look skywards and there, stretching out across the valley, an arc of the most beautiful, vibrant rainbow I have ever seen. It has landed on the creek below. A veritable pot of gold. <a class="image-link

Alone and Close (opens the original)

A slow start this morning. The sun well and truly up in the sky when I rise.Stepping out on to my verandah, a figure rises its head and looks up at me from the other side of the fence, barely 10 metres away. It is a huge dark kangaroo, not like the smaller grey kangaroos we are used to seeing here. His coat uniformly black. His face shorter and broader. Something different about his tail, thicker and more muscular than most. (I find out later he is a Wallaroo).<a class="image-link image2 is-view
