Come, walk in the garden with me. The days decline, though the sun is still warm, the breezes have definite cool undertones. A few scraggly tomato vines are surviving rather than thriving because this was not a year when we were good about watering. (There was a deadly nightshade in the same bed that was covered with mildew. I left it, thinking it was a tomato vine, until it fruited dark berries. Oops!) Still, cherry tomatoes are ripe for the picking and there will be more tomorrow and tomorrow.
