Last week, I went up to Portland, Maine with my friend, romance scholar Jayashree Kamblé for a romance scholarship writing retreat. My goal was to write up the paper version of research I presented 5 years ago at the Pop Culture Association Conference about the romance reader stereotype.The dataset was complete. The analysis and a thorough literature review were done. Heck, I had a whole paper written already, organized into a coherent narrative with citations basically organized and ready to go
