PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Storm clouds building north and farther south of us on this first full day of fall will make for an interesting evening across the Valley. Models are split on timing, but a pop-up shower or two are possible tonight across the northern portions of the Valley. But this activity would only occur if these storms north of us kick out multiple outflow boundaries to produce these storms in our area. Right now, our rain chances look meager, sitting at around 20%. Outflows may bring

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Hard to believe, but an active and hot summer of 2026 has ended as the fall season started officially at 5:05 p.m. today! Most Valley highs have reached back into the triple digits. If it happens at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, that would be the 127th day at or above 100 degrees this year. The average number per year is 111 days. Scattered showers have been noted in far eastern Arizona as a strong push of moisture continues to flow up from the south. St. John’s had over a hal

Phoenix Sky Harbor officially received .16 inches but we are now well over three-quarters of an inch of rain for the month. That’s good for the month, but still is just over a tenth of an inch below the rainfall average. We are just under an inch and a half for the Monsoon, which is still about a half inch below average. Other gauges around the Valley a

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two straight weeks of above-average temperatures continued Friday with highs above 110 across the Valley. Our average temperature this time of year is 105 degrees, and this will be the 44th day with a heat warning for 2026. This comes after setting another record morning low of 94 degrees, beating 93 degrees in 2023. Gusty and dusty conditions from decaying storms are expected again tonight. Hazy skies due to dust overnight, plus the possibility of more to follow from storms
