    The Effingham Sandwich Shop, a week later. Both tables are out with chairs around them; the shop is open for business. MARION enters from stage right, heads right for the sandwich shop, and takes the seat closest to the shop door, with her back to it. She is dressed in bright colors, just verging on the garish, with large jewelry. She pulls out a compact and touches up her lipstick while SPENCER enters from center stage, glances at MARION (he doesn’t know who she is), and sits at the other table
