The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission said the break is located on State Street, between Main Street and Dwight Street. As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, the break had been isolated and cleanup and repair work continues. One building is also without water service. SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Springfield. Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said officers responded to the 0-100 block of Acushnet Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation on the evening of September 17. When police arrived, they found evidence that a shooting occurred, including damage to a nearby house. Detectives identified 18-year-old Jeremy Befford of Springfield as a suspect after an investigation and he was arrested Tuesday
