Some housekeeping:For Aquarium Drunkard I wrote about Paul Simon and his 1986 album Graceland, as well as tried to put it in a context of world music and what was actually happening in South Africa at the time, too. Thanks for reading! A while back I wrote about the novella Trapped in Amber, a short book by the pseudonymous Fake Minsk. In the time since, Minsk has been hard at work on a new story: Who Made the Lamb. On July 22, Sophie Cunningham said that it’s common sense to keep trans women out of the WNBA. S

I’ve been keeping a notebook now for over two decades. Always at least one, but usually more like two or four. They overlap, contradict. If someone edits them after I die, they will have a hell of a puzzle to figure out; there isn’t exactly a clear picture so much as a series of evolving ideas and thoughts. (That said, they’re more likely to end up getting binned.)They’re me, the little books I never wrote, a bunch of takes and notes of a mind flattening and spreading, soaking up everything it c
