I knew Christina’s World before I knew Andrew Wyeth. Its one of those images that are part of our culture. I’m still surprised when artist friends don’t know who Wyeth is, even artists who studied in university. Yet show them Christina’s World and they recognise the painting. I find insparation in Wyth’s painting but never really thought about it much. That changed when visiting my wifes family in Tenets Harbour Maine a few years ago.
