Nolans’ The Odyssey, A Wasted of Three Hours (opens the original)
Read excerpt
If you didn’t know the basic plot of The Odyssey before going to see Christoopher Nolan’s movie; if you like darkly lit scenes of hulking bodies huddled together in either combat or gluttonous indulgence, often in soft focus; if you like overly dramatic music to make up for a rather bland script peppered with unconvincing, anguished or snarling faces; and if you have three hours to spare in an otherwise dreary life, you might like this film. Otherwise, my advice is to spend your money elsewhere.
