If the gate closes, we're all dead. To break through, we'll have to practice looking through the looking glass, overselling the aristocracy, commissioning a silver toilet, lying about our family, eating delicious white bread, seeing a train for the first time, face-planting after a bridge leap, considering the Train Level, fighting on top of a moving train, taking off the cape, hard-walking for a fight, kicking down the door, falling over, giving the cops our real name, explaining piracy to fasc
Skies of Arcadia | E16: Mother, Of Course This Country is Wrong [The Rescue] (opens the original)

Why do you not rejoice with us? What's stopping you, and also us, from proceeding through the shitpipe, placating the lower class with public executions, killing the warden of spells, taking no prisoners, entering a secret sewer room, seeing a train for the first time, telling mother this country is wrong, making the empress too mean, expanding the meaning of "impossible," verbally whipping another motherboy, scattering six Moon Crystals across the world, trying to prevent nuclear proliferation,

Perhaps, instead, you would prefer meeting the roster of villains, capturing a citizen of the silver civilization, labeling a pervert, imagining more One Piece comparisons, confining the less fortunate to Lower City, smelling like garbage, drawing bold lines between two classes, meeting the local Big Bag Rascal, refusing to collect trash, losing another smile, realizing Valua is a Button Town, coloring on the ground, eating hard black bread, findi

Read excerpt
Never take your hands off the wheel until we have come to a complete stop. And before you decelerate, listen to us forgetting Blackbeard was a real guy, trying to remember orally recited directions, trying our very best to figure out ship battles, determining what sort of code a black pirate has, applying the Captain's Stripe, forgetting critical game mechanics, ramming the Little Jack into a canyon wall, jamming moonfish into a bird, vomiting eggs, learning Doc and Maria's lore, suffering throu
