The crucifix is a replica of the so-called Mosvik Crucifix, which dates back to approximately 1250. The inspiration for this type of crucifix—known as High Gothic—originated in England. We do not know for certain whether the cross was produced in England or in Norway. The figure of Christ is depicted in an upright posture; the arms are straight, and the head leans slightly to the left.
