Random Acts of Urbanism
I’m not an urbanist but I play one on the internets. I find amusing and joyful examples of people-centred design and I tell their story. In English and French most of the time because why not.

Evan Potter and I produce a weekly podcast on the state of the municipal race, and we also crank out a bunch of short clips taken from that podcast. I want to experiment with longer clips, divided by topics. I’d love feedback on this. Is this useful to you, or is it more emails than you care to receive? Above is a 14-minute clip on the weird and egregious situation with public polling in the race. You can also watch the full half-hour episode <a href="https://randomactsofurbanism.substack.com/p/

If, like me, you couldn’t get to Carleton University for the Student Debate, you can watch it on YouTube. I encourage you to do so, even if it takes you four sessions to get through it. It’s very long but it is excellent. Massive kudos to the organizers. The questions were great, the format allowed us to understand who the candidates are, where they agree and where they disagree. There were jokes, funny moments, and lots of energy. Mark Sutcliffe should be ashamed of himself for not showing up.
