Letter: Let's hear more about the Greens - Cowichan Valley Citizen (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Published 4:12 pm Tuesday, September 29, 2026 Our provincial press sadly fails to mention B.C.’s Green Party — nor its sitting MLAs Rob Botterell and Jeremy Valeriote — as alternatives to the imploding B.C. Conservative Party, and the seemingly feckless Centre B.C. party. Given inane fractures between those right-wing parties, are their politicians really best to lead our struggling province facing friction from Ottawa’s green-washed, fast-tracked projects — and from Trump’s fascist America? Letter: All local governments should prohibit data centres - Ladysmith Chronicle (opens the original)
Read excerpt
Published 2:53 pm Thursday, September 10, 2026 Council must be mightily congratulated for unanimously passing Coun. Chris Istace’s motion Sept. 2, 2026 to have staff pen a zoning bylaw amendment and policy toward legally prohibiting data centres arguably unwelcome in North Cowichan. Council’s timely, cogent policy should be cloned by all of Cowichan’s local governments to prevent these onerous, water-gulping, energy-eating centres from emitting noise pollution, and swallowing precious farmland.
