I picked up my pen and held it to the paperbag, then I followed. The result? A 327 word story which took me thirty minutes. I had no idea where it was going, but the fact that it contains references to canals, trolleybuses and Louise Brooks are all reflections of me. Follow the link below, which is by way of being a test. It will not mean more work because my plan is to strip paperbagstories of all its extraneous bits and transfer them to roberthoward.substack.com. For health reasons (I have pulmonary fibrosis) I have for the last twelve years as good as hibernated from now until April. My life is as dramatic as that. I still go out, subject to the weather, but I avoid crowds and public transport (and the latter is the worst part of it because I love buses).
