There is a lot of discussion online about the Macklemore speech he gave before his song “Hinds Hall.” First, I want to stress that nothing in his speech was antisemitic. Being critical of the Israeli governme

This time it’s about the music fans (opens the original)

When we talk about Bandcamp, we always talk about indie artists; sometimes we talk about record labels, but we often never discuss the important driving force behind Bandcamp: music fans.I’ve been telling everyone on social media for over a decade now to get a music fan account so they can purchase music from indie artists.Yes, I get that many music fans want physical copies, to pour over the liner notes, and to have something for that cute little “Now Playing” stand they probably bought on Amaz

I didn’t want to derail into some self-loathing, self-pity, or doom scroll anymore. I felt I wanted to connect more with being in the moment vs connecting with others online.Oddly, in the time that I was away from social media, I still managed to put out a show, but you probably didn’t know if you relied on learning via social media and not through Substa

I contain multitudes. Im not just a super fan of music and Bandcamp (opens the original)

    Excerpt · Neutral tone

I do write about Bandcamp and music. This however, is one of my favourite pieces I wrote because I am the holder of receipts*—via hyperlinks in this case. Imane Khelief outrage Receipts are important because let’s be honest, no one is going to look up that information in their spare time. Recent events can be newsworthy, but also, it is important to connect with older pieces, i mean…. that’s why we have documentaries about the past, and history books 😉I plan to flush out the gender appearance soc
