Recently, a private photo workshop I was teaching fell on the full moon. Instead of photographing the sunset, which is what I usually do for private lessons, we waited for the nearly full moon to rise behind the Grand Marais lighthouse. I had planned for the moon to rise inside the lighthouse’s legs, with nearly the same amount of space above and below it. This summer’s night skies in northern Minnesota were spectacular as always. That’s not all that newsworthy for a newsletter.
