I’m listening to, and enjoying, a newly acquired live recording of a Keith Jarrett trio. It reminds me of the time I heard him perform with a trio at the Smiling Dog Saloon in Cleveland. This would of been in the early to mid-1970s before his career really took off. The Smiling Dog was a relatively small, grungy kind of place but they put some of the great jazz acts of the day on that stage, as well as folk music and rock bands.
