Cause You Can’t Stop the Rain (opens the original)

There was such a tenacity on Mahmoud’s part to have his own Substack for a reason. He was suffering from tremendous anxiety about my ability to continue helping him, (especially since the solar panel was supposed to mean only rare extra requests) and so harbored an equally intense desire to find others who would help instead — on his own. I still am unsure why Substack kept suspending his account, but after this last time, when he seemed to have done everything right, we had to give up. But I al

We concluded that he it was because he mentioned his Chuffed or Gofundme addresses, and that included if a well-meaning supporter mentioned it and then he restacked it. In the process of figuring it out, I also found out that he had made a backup Substack, and then a “test” Substack, and I was like, “No wonder they’re suspending you! All these Substacks look suspicious!” So now he gets it. (So many explanatory

Mahmoud surprised me - I didn’t know he was planning this, nor that he had previously had a Substack that had been taken down. I am hopeful that the powers that be at Substack have taken note of the prevailing winds and will not be doing that again.Posting requires translating from Arabic first, and it’s all done on his phone, so the process must be arduous. But I was very touched by the result. And it goes without saying that he needs followers, so I prevail on everyone of you to please subscri
