Convicted of child abuse. What would you have done differently? | 99.9 KGOR | Lucy Chapman (opens the original)

Ok, so, its a "safe" gated community with security driving around frequently. I get it. I would allow my 5 year old out in the yard to play alone. Walk to a pond 6 blocks away... at 5 years old alone? No, I would not have done that. Not because I was a "good" or "bad" mother, just because at FIVE you don't know how to protect yourself if you are alone. If he fell in the pond, well, that could have been tragic. No going back. No "I wish I had said no". Should she be on a child abuse registry for

Moment of Dog is CRAZY today!! Who DOES THIS?? | 99.9 KGOR | Lucy Chapman (opens the original)

This family in Miami is fighting 2 battles. One for their beloved pup and one for their beloved mom. They went out of town for a child's sporting event and left their pup with a dog boarder. When they came back, they couldn't get Lucie back!! The only thing I can see in this story as far as an excuse is "she won't take her from her pack". What??? If this woman, who seems a bit off balance, has a good reason for keeping the pup, maybe she thinks it was abused or something, then she should state h

Years ago I saw one of those weird medical things show about this! | 99.9 KGOR | Lucy Chapman (opens the original)

There was a weird medical show I watched years ago about a kid that was really having terrible medical problems. If I remember correctly, it took a while for docs to find the problem. A wire from the grill brush came off and perforated something in the kid. Seems like a super weird one-off. At the time, maybe it was happening more often then anyone knew, but the wire in your gut was never found? It's happening a lot, now. Here's a link to see if you have one of these brushes before you cook out

Moment of Dog We have to get past "not the dog it's the Owner" | 99.9 KGOR | Lucy Chapman (opens the original)

    Excerpt · English

It's true that if you abuse a dog, any dog, it can turn aggressive and destructive. However, when you have 2 or more dogs together that are scared, confused, threatened... ANY breed, that is a different machine all together. When they are dogs that have the bite capacity to seriously injure or kill a person, maybe there does need to be more discussion. I am well aware there are beautiful and gentle. loving and sweet pitbulls out there. Maybe MOST of them are. What do we do about those that are n

    I don't think I'd call her a "karen". | 99.9 KGOR | Lucy Chapman (opens the original)

    Excerpt · English

    Read excerpt

NOBODY and I mean NOBODY wants to listen to a dog bark for long periods of time, and actually, if a dog barks for hours, chances are pretty good the pup is in some kind of distress. Hot or cold, hungry or maybe just bored. It needs to be at the very least, investigated. Yes, dogs bark. Sometimes for a while, but not for hours. Having a dog means you have to pay attention to them. They want to be with you! How cool is that? To be fair, maybe this lady is a "karen". I don't know her. Maybe she com
