    Join me as we listen to this rediscovered interview from 1981 with Chief Gunners Mate. Sam Glidewell of Cordova, Alabama. Sam joined the U.S. Navy in 1934, first serving aboard the carrier USS Saratoga before being transferred to the seaplane tender, USS Thornton (AVD-11) in 1940.
