About a decade ago, some law schools began to experiment with using the GRE for law school admissions in lieu of the LSAT. There were a range of plausible reasons offered, from the good (it gives an increased pool of invested applicants who don’t need to take a second test) to the bad (it was a way of circumventing USNWR LSAT medians or other admissions-related concerns).
