Removing Paint From Hardware (opens the original)
Read excerpt
The first time I ever had a post go viral on Instagram was for stripping the paint off my brass door plates in my NYC apartment and for good reason- there is something so extremely gratifying about it. All that beauty, all that history, buried under several goopey layers of paint. Each layer a different color, all in agreement to just say “f**k it”. Up there though, looking back at my camera roll, it’s shockingly baren for a good extra 6 week

This past week marked the beginning of what will be a multiple years long renovation of our house! I vlogged it for YouTube if you’d like to watch the video instead. As mentioned in previous posts, our very first task was figuring out what was going on with this buckling back wall, which sits below the future sunroom, and identifying what sorts of repairs are needed. That back wall frames out a little garage area (not big enough for a modern car, but we’ll call it a garage anyw
