Our human tendency is to focus on ourselves. We are also conditioned by the world to obsess about our feelings and thoughts. We end up putting that expectation on Jesus. If He doesn't show up in the way we expect, we dump down further in our sorrow and disappointment. In John 11, Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead. But He doesn't meet the expectations of people He loves, and they let Him feel the weight of that. Jesus weeps. But is it for the reasons that are commonly taught? If you look closely
