TIFF came and went, and even though I thought I was skipping it this year, I ended up seeing a few movies. Several were good, but I’ve felt no desire to write about them.Fall is starting, the weather’s getting cool, and I’m switching from overnight oats for breakfast to baked oatmeal instead. Same high fiber content, but warm. Yesterday, I had to pack my kid’s first ‘school lunch’ of the year, for his weekly nature school. He ate 40% of it. It’s Labour Day, and I am not prepared for the end of summer. So unprepared, in fact, that the moment I hit “publish” on this thing, I’m going to run out and get some ice cream. The following night, Colin and I went to dinner, and Josh Johnson’s Comedy Band Camp at Massey Hall. It was like an actual date, a very rare occurrence in our world. All in all, a great weekend. I got several thoughtful gifts because I’m married to one of the world’s best gift givers (seriously, it’s intimidating), b

Summer’s here, and I just got back from a week in a total connectivity dead-zone. No phone, no internet, no nothing. It was great. So, here’s a book, a movie, an artist, and a phone (that might allow me to spend more time in the dead-zone). The Life Impossible by Matt HaigThis book was on the staff picks shelf at my local library so I grabbed it for my beach read last week while I was away at family camp with my kiddo. I’ve
