Wow, the last couple of weeks have been full of … well, a lot. Appointments of various types, general running around, a couple of events, a mini-trip. Funny how I look forward to the ‘relaxed’ pace of summer, just to start thinking, hey, having the kids start school doesn’t sound so bad. (On the other hand, with three schools to contend with, this isn’t the case so much this year.) I’m grateful for each day, because I know it’s not guaranteed, and then, often without warning, this life is over.

It really ended up being quite a busy week, despite there being no school. Things also did get quite hot, with temperatures that hit 90F. I know I survived worse as a kid, living in an apartment building, and primarily without air conditioning. The A/C unit on the house may be ancient, but it will still cool the house decently on hot days, so I’m still grateful I’m not having to replace the unit or something. I’ve also survived a couple of very hot summers in Europe, and, well, it’s been over 20
