The wheel turns (opens the original)
Read excerpt
I was listening to some music and it stirred something inside of me. A bit like autumn slowly shuffling in. A cool, damp morning before giving way to the lingering summer sun. Quiet streets and a stillness, holding of breath. A slow beat of time. There’s a tiny reminder something is coming. I find the way that autumn creeps forward is quite magical. Like there is no hurry, but suddenly the nights draw in and darkness creeps into the folds. Candles are lit, spirits of old whisper in the trees as

Mellow Yellow (opens the original)
Read excerpt
I’m playing catch up with the prompts of the summer writing sanctuary. Today’s prompt is yellow. There’s something very happy about yellow. I can’t look at yellow and not feel brighter. The only pink I enjoy is in delicate flower bouquets or hanging baskets. The deeper pink the better. Pink is a colour associated with girls. Feminine. Stereotypical! Is there any wonder I avoid pink. I remember once trolling through an estate agents properly listing. I came across a house that was decorated head to toe in pink. Even pink kitchen accessories incl
Day Two - Colour Me Blue (opens the original)
Read excerpt
I’m a bit behind on the days, but I will endeavour to complete the week for ’s Summer writing retreat.Blue is one of my favourite colours and all that it is associated with. It’s the colour of Greek holidays - their National flag, painted houses, the Aegean sea and swimming pools. How I love to swim and soak up the sun on a clear, bright blue sky day. This is what blue means to me. Is there any wonder I want to wrap myself up in its colour too?Anyway, here is my musing for today but not a poem.
