Last fall I found out that my great-grandmother had grown dahlias in Texas after I had already planted four thousand dahlias in my own field.My Aunt Linda reached out last fall because she had heard and seen I was growing dahlias, and she wanted me to know she had a photograph of my great-grandmother, who had grown them too, all the way down in Texas. I never met my great-grandmother, and I still have not seen this picture. For now I just hold the idea of her standing in a garden full of dahlias
