As I've said many times before, I am so glad I am not a parent to young children right now. The stress would destroy me. I reckon trying to fend off Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman would be tough for even the most ferocious tiger parent - and I'm not - quite - the fiercest. Plus kids seem to grow up even faster than when my children were little. Our number one kid came home from the first day of kindy asking where babies came from. Terrifying enough for a first-time parent. But a few weeks ago, I

That Intergenerational Report scared the bejesus out of me. Here's what frightened me most. It takes a bunch of us for granted. And that bunch of us, mostly women, is sick of being taken for granted. Do we all have fantasy jobs? The work we might have done if we'd had the right skills or talents? And if we had those jobs, would we then be universally applauded, loved even, for our sheer genius? Yeah, nah. Then, there's the real world in which we currently exist. And which apparently our senior public servants are not too keen on. I too would love a job where people weren't mean to me. What a glorious concept! But are there any actual jobs like that? Nope. In the words of a former prime minis
