Last Wednesday on July 8th, 2026, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, MTA Chairman & CEO Janno Lieber, and NYC Transportation Commissioner Mike Flynn announced plans to provide faster, newer, and reliable buses by 2040 and up to 50 new corridors by 2035, including Flatbush Av, Utica Av, Northern Blvd, Tremont Av, and Kensington/JFK Airport. Westchester Bee-Line start allowing $1, $5, and $10 bills to be accepted on buses but exact must be made.
