Dear holy and mischievous reader,Today I would like to share with you a piece I wrote about a year ago during a particularly heated and tired phase of my life, in the depths of menopause transition. And yet, I love the raw sentiments in this piece and I would like more people to read it before I move on to new grounds in my writing. I hope new blooms are forming in you

The crickets have joined the cicada and katydid choir with their high-pitched trills and chirrups. The six juvenile wild turkeys are almost as big as their ever-vigilant mama, but they still have their baby voices and move like a burbling flotilla across

The wind is howling outside my window. We’ve had no power due to high winds and fire hazard since yesterday.I am sitting quietly, feeling the intensity of the past week. All I can think of is the massive disaster that unfolded in Nepal. My heart goes out to everyone who experienced this devastating ordeal.Far away from the Tibetan plateau and ice-capped mountains, I, too, have been witnessing the weather patterns changing in my little village. I live in southwestern Türkiye, on the Aegean coast.
