Since I started writing History of Spain over a year ago, something that caught my attention is how much interest there is abroad in the Spanish Civil War. Personally, it was never one of the most interesting topics of Spanish History for me. I find earlier times more appealing, such as Medieval Spain, maybe because they feel more distant from the current times and therefore become an almost unimaginable reality.
