Fundraising for Guide Dogs UKTime defeated us this week so Hattie has gone for a Fishy Friday post that she found on my hard drive. I have tried to explain to her that finding one of my old poems doesn’t mean she can claim it as a “found poem” and that it is, in fact, theft. She told me to shut up and post it anyway. Fundraising for Guide Dogs UKHattie’s hum this week was written after she heard that long-term collaborator, Peppy Scott, and I (Mr Smith) are guest readers at a book launch next Thursday for our friend, Charlie Bell. It’s not that loch, by the way, it’s the other one, but I hope she has a lovely time, doesn’t eat too much shortbread (or haggis). If she brought me back a nice sing

Fundraising for Guide Dogs UKThe post title tells you everything you need to know about today’s hum, but I was intrigued about the choice of backing track. Hattie explained that while she likes SOME modern music, she prefers older songs because they have more substance. She particulary mourns the passing of the middle-eight in favour of a verse / chorus / verse structure. Or, indeed, the chorus /chorus/ chorus/ chorus / verse / chorus / chorus / chorus / chor
