A man who died as a result of a collision in Co Antrim on Wednesday has been named by police. He was 52-year-old Philip McMeekan, from the Comber area. The single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle happened at around 7:25pm on the Shore Road in Carrickfergus. Belfast boy Dáithà Mac Gabhann has officially returned to school after receiving his life-saving heart transplant. The nine-year-old, from Ballymurphy in west Belfast, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and had been on the transplant waiting list since 2018. After moving to the âurgentâ list in February, Dáithà received his heart transplant in July, after waiting almost eight years. A man has been arrested and charged in relation to the murder of Robert Lawlor in 2020. Mr Lawlor was shot dead outside a house in Etna Drive in north Belfast on 4 April six years ago. Police arrested the 41-year-old man in Liverpool on Wednesday. He has been charged with murder, and possession of a firearm or ammunition with intent to endanger life or cause serious damage to property. He is due before Belfast Magistratesâ Court on Friday.
