    A scattering of leaves outside my window are beginning to yellow. I went bramble picking with my son the other week and we found plenty of perfectly ripe fruits, but a good deal more had already turned to dusty mould on the vine. The weather is intensifying in its schizophrenia, throwing heat, storms, and chilling northerly winds all in one day. We are transitioning from summer to autumn, just as we do every year.I used to love autumn for its delicious cosiness and the thrill of new beginnings.
