Willard Henry (Bill) Godwin was born in the family home in August 1932 in Wheeler County Mobeetie, Texas to Willard (Daddy Bill) and Fleda Mae Brandon Godwin (Mimi). Technically, he was born in the family home in the town of Old Mobeetie. It boggles the mind that a town of 99 residents was at one time home to enough people to have a New and an Old Mobeetie.
