There is a difference between filling a tag, and making a meat run. I’ve got four free deer tags, for which I am fortunate. But ground beef is also $9 a pound at the store. And that’s cheap compared to real rural areas of the state. All hunts are meat runs, but with four tags and healthy populations, being picky isn’t just about antlers. It’s about the twenty or so extra pounds of meat that come with a bigger buck over the “brown it’s down” temptation buck that stands broadside early in the hunt
