It would be impossible to do a series of articles about Canadian naval aviation without prominently featuring the story of Robert Hampton Gray. In the mid to late 1960’s I had a shipmate who sported naval aviator’s wings, and he often mentioned “Hammy,” although he wouldn’t have known or served with him.
