THREE in every five A roads in Knowsley are in a mid-life, deteriorating condition, the highest proportion of any borough in the city region, a fact which a councillor has described as “really concerning”. This 60% proportion compares to 53 % in St Helens. Elsewhere, in the region the figures were 14% in Halton, 46% in Liverpool, 20% in Sefton, and 53% in Wirral.
