About five years ago I took a class that changed my life. It was called Survey of English Poetry and it was taught by Thomas Banks. I knew absolutely nothing about poetry, but I did know that the people I looked up to found delight and joy in poetry, and I wanted in on that. So I took the class and a whole new world was opened up to me. New ideas, words, emotions, expressions, and stories poured out of the class and into my imagination.
