The Kings County Art League (KCAL) began hosting the Senior Citizen Art Class in February of 2025 on the last Tuesday of each month. It soon became a semi-monthly class with the second Tuesday of every month added to the schedule. There are many benefits the art class provides for senior citizens.  It gives them a place to be, where they can learn something new and meet new people. If you happen to be in the main dining room of Panera Bread in Hanford on the third Thursday of each month, you will see a tableful of artists sketching away. From 10 a.m. to noon, local artists sit and enjoy a cup of coffee while they spend time sketching alongside fellow artists.
