BENTON HARBOR â An intestinal illness caused by a parasite is on the rise in Michigan, with almost 1,000 cases confirmed in the state, according to Berrien County Health Officer Guy Miller. No cases of cyclosporiasis, which is caused by a parasite called cyclospora, have been reported in Berrien County, Miller told members of the Berrien County Board of Health on Wednesday.
