How Roughriders reacquired Brett Lauther to make biggest deal of quiet CFL trade deadline (opens the original)
Read excerpt
The CFL trade deadline came and went Wednesday with barely a ripple across the league. Only two trades were completed before the 5 p.m. Saskatchewan deadline, reflecting how difficult it can be for teams to make significant moves this late in the season. The Saskatchewan Roughriders were involved in one of those deals and made a reasonable splash by reacquiring veteran kicker Brett Lauther from the Ottawa Redblacks for a fifth-round selection in the 2027 CFL Draft. "We had some conversations a c

Brett Lauther is coming back to Saskatchewan. The Roughriders have reacquired the veteran kicker from the Ottawa Redblacks in exchange for Saskatchewan’s fifth-round selection in the 2027 CFL Draft. Through 17 weeks, CFL coaches collectively are 25-for-67 on challenges. Hamilton's Scott Milanovich has the league's best success rate at 57.1 percent. Mace's career numbers aren't much

Of course, Logan Ferland got married on the bye week. Did you get him a gift? I got him a monetary gift. Thatâs what he asked for, so, in a sense,
Sparked by big plays, Saskatchewan Huskies earn bounce-back win over Calgary (opens the original)

Sometimes a football team needs a little reminder. A reminder of what it’s capable of. A reminder of how it expects to play. And maybe, just maybe, a reminder of how much an opening-week loss can sting. The Saskatchewan Huskies came into homecoming weekend with a chip on their shoulder after being upset by Manitoba in their season opener. They played like it, and they finished like it. The Huskies scored 24 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to turn a close game into a convincing 44-24 vict
