An end of summer (sob) update from your favorite Palacito owner in the South of Spain. The heat wave is no joke in Europa as surely the NYT, LA Times, CNN and TikTok Global have shared repeatedly with end-of-times energy. However, on a positive note it does seem that the Moors of Cadíz (preceded by the Visigoths, Romans, Carthaginians, Phoenicians, Tartessians and other prehistoric civilizations…) did have a pretty solid grip on architecture and how to best manage the temperature. I’ve known Clay for a few years now but got to spend time with him in person this year at L/E Miami, a hospitality conference for people who don’t realllllyy want to be at a conference and would rather schmooze over cafe con leche or a cocktail (many). The favorite glass that you turn to every night or a traditionalist, classically tuned to use a proper glass for each

I’m back from a roadtrip through Costa Brava. It was very very amazing. I’ve immediately gotten to work trying to mold my life in a way so that we can do this every year. Good news is, I’m 1/2 way there. Mediterranean summer is perfect, sorry. It’s not overrated at all. You’re just jealous if you think that. If you can find the spots that aren’t overrun by tourists, I think it’s pretty much heaven. The world is divisive but I’m certain if we can agree on 1 thing it’s that warm days should revolv
