The internet was somewhat a-flutter of late regarding a New York Times article published by Nikole Hannah-Jones, author of the 1619 Project, entitled “In Fighting for Every Black Child, Did I Betray My Own?”. In the piece (and I’m paraphrasing Helen Andrews analysis a bit here), Hannah-Jones expresses her opinion that public schools were failing due to a lack of money, or a lack of parental involvement, or not enough administrative attention.
