I had to memorize and cite Rudyard Kipling’s If for English class in 7th grade. Although I had a photographic memory, this work was a tough one for me to master. So, I practice and practiced and practiced, reciting it in front of my dad ad nauseum. He never lost his patience, he just cheered me on.
