COVERT â The reloading of fuel rods at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant was halted Aug. 30 after after one fuel assembly tilted from its upright position. Plant owner Holtec International, which is seeking regulatory approval to restart the plant, reported the incident in a Sept. 21 news release. During fuel-loading activities, one fuel assembly tilted after it had been placed and the fuel-handling machine grapple had been disengaged, the release states.
